‘Tis the season of giving, and the Cobb Community Foundation just made it easier with the “2023 Cobb Thrives Gift Guide,” a brilliant initiative to give your holiday gift-giving efforts more value and impact.
It’s been a long year, and a lot of us plan to wrap it up in the most joyful way possible. You might even be interested in sharing this joy with charities and causes in your community. But this is usually where things get a bit difficult. Not to sound cliche, but this simple 24-page guide might be what you have been searching for all these years. Let’s introduce you to your key to an overwhelm-free gift-giving this year.
Sometimes, the problem isn’t that we don’t have what to give. It’s the ‘who’ and ‘how’ that stumps us. This is where The Cobb Community Foundation (CCF) comes in.
The foundation’s mission statement is “Inspiring charitable giving, building resources for the future, and connecting donors who care with causes that matter,” which is exactly what they do. They serve as a middleman between donors and causes in the Cobb area. Since they became a 501 (c)(3) organization in 2005, they have made charitable distributions of over 16 million and established nearly 200 charitable organizations.
Giving through this foundation guarantees your resources are being used to actually make a difference. The transparent process makes certain you are 100% aware of where your funds or resources are going. And even if you have no idea which of the many impactful organizations to give, they’ll guide you through a match-making process that ensures your gift goes to a cause you would love to be associated with.
In late November, the CCF published the 2023 Cobb Thrives Gift Guide, which is available in print and online! This colorful 24-page catalog lists holiday wishes from 30 local nonprofits. These wishes are requests these organizations had a tough time getting funded this year but are still necessary to achieve their mission.
The Guide is user-friendly, breaking down each nonprofit's needs into real-life items, from weighted blankets to water heaters, laptop computers to printers. Organizations like Waymark have wishes as simple as birthday gifs and cards for youths who grew up in foster care, while Serenade Heights is requesting funding for financial literacy courses for single moms. You can fund a whole item or chip in any amount you like.
These 30 local nonprofits were carefully curated by the foundations, volunteers and other professionals so you can be sure your resources will be making a lot of impact. Plus, it’s a mix of relatable requests you can easily support and monitor via the Gift Tracker ot the bottom of their page. You can contribute online, mail a check, send securities, or make a grant from a donor-advised fund. For better insights on how to give, follow this link- Gift Guide Giving Options.
As we wrap up, let's ignite the spirit of giving and make this holiday season truly special! The Cobb Thrives Gift Guide is your passport to turning wishes into reality for our community. Whether you choose to contribute a little or a lot, your generosity matters. Let's join hands, spread joy, and create unforgettable moments for those in need. Dive into the Cobb Thrives Gift Guide and let the magic of giving brighten our community this season. Together, we can make a lasting impact and bring warmth to every corner. Happy giving!
